Renell Käppi Architects are a Helsinki based architecture office specialising in the design of schools and education facilities.

Our work also covers a wide range of other projects for public clients, such as office buildings, libraries, sports and aquatic buildings. The company's services include all architectural design tasks, from zoning permissions to brief development, and feasibility studies to interior design and furniture.

Our Story

The company has been closely involved in developing Finnish learning environments for over 50 years. The company was founded in 1973 following Aarne von Boehm's winning school competition entry and has largely focused on school and educational institution design ever since. The firm operated as ‘Arkkitektitoimisto Aarne von Boehm’ (Aarne von Boehm architecture office) from 1973 to 2016, and then under the name ‘Arkkitehdit von Boehm – Renell’ (‘von Boehm – Renell Architects’) from 2016 to 2023. From 2023 operations continued under the name ‘Renell Käppi Architects’, with architects Eero Renell and Jonna Käppi as co-owners and design partners.
